God’s Blessings and Treasures of Autumn

O Lord, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth! You have set your glory above the heavens.”
Psalm 8:1

If I had to pick a favorite month of the year, I would definitely say October is in my top three!

Ever since I was a youngster growing up on a dairy farm near Blue Mounds and Barneveld, I have so enjoyed the sights and smells of the autumn season, and especially the month of October.

What are the things that make the season special for you?

Is it the multitude of colors as the leaves on the trees go from shades of green to delightful shades of orange, red and brown?

Is it the smells of harvesting fruits and garden vegetables, or fields of corn and soybeans? Maybe it’s the cool crisp air that comes with the change of season in autumn. Possibly even attending a social event like a high school football game, enjoying watching the Badgers play football, or a good Packer and Vikings game. Or it could be participating in a local Fall Festival, attending church or anticipating family gatherings to come.

Yes indeed, there is a multitude of things happening in the autumn season here in Wisconsin!

Like the Bible verse from Psalm 8:1 declares, “O Lord, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth! You have set your glory above the heavens.”

We give thanks and praise to God, the One who created and sustains all life that we know!

Each day, in our prayers and praise, we have the opportunity to give thanks to a loving God. He has called each of us, claiming us in those Baptismal waters as His beloved children into the Family of God’s Kingdom!

Take time to get outside and give thanks to God for all these wonderful blessings and treasures in this truly wonderful autumn season!

Peace and Joy in Jesus,
