God’s Work Our Hands Event on Sept. 8

Dear Friends in Christ,

On Sunday, September 8, Two Steeples Lutheran Parish will join with churches throughout our ELCA for God’s Work Our Hands. This is our opportunity to reach out into our community and our world and be good neighbors.

God’s Work Our Hands began as a church-wide event in 2013. Thousands of congregations have participated in this opportunity to serve others. This year, Two Steeples will join the effort. Leadership at Springdale and West Blue Mounds is on board and plans are underway for this special day.

What will Sept. 8 look like?
We will gather at West Blue Mounds Lutheran for worship at 9 a.m. Following worship, we will spend several hours doing service projects out in the community and at the church. When our serving is done, we will gather back at the church for lunch. Our day should be completed by about 1 p.m.

What kind of service projects will we do?
We are hoping to find several projects in the Blue Mounds area. These projects might be service to the Blue Mounds community or to individuals who may need help with outdoor projects.
For those who have mobility issues, there will be projects at the church to work on. We will put together Personal Care Kits and Mission Quilts for Lutheran World Relief.

How can I help?
We need projects to do! If you have suggestions for projects in our community or know of neighbors with needs, please talk to the pastors. We need materials for the Personal Care Kits and Mission Quilts. The materials needed are listed in the newsletter and will be in the bulletin. This will be our benevolence for July and August. Please donate generously!

Can I get a cool t-shirt that says: God’s Work Our Hands?
YES! We will begin taking orders for the yellow God’s Work our Hands t-shirts in July. Shirts will cost about $7 and say God’s Work or Hands on the front and Two Steeples on the back.
Mark your calendars for Sept. 8 and plan to be a part of this special day!

Yours in Christ,

Pastor Loren and Pastor Linda
