Springdale’s Car Show is open to all classes of cars, tractors, and new this year, motorcycles. Registration begins at 8 a.m. and is $10 per vehicle. Parking for cars is primarily pavement or partially on grass. Tractors will be parked on grass and motorcycles on either pavement or grass. Free coffee and pastries are available during registration for all our exhibitors. The show runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. There is no charge for spectators but a free will donation is encouraged.
Goodie bags and dash plaques are provided to the first 100 exhibitors after the registration information has been completed. All exhibitors will also be automatically entered for door prize drawings throughout the day.
Springdale’s Car Show was started in 2011 to bring together car enthusiasts for a purpose. Each year, Springdale selects one or two local organizations to support with the proceeds of the Car Show. This year, however, the decision to once again support Badger Honor Flight was personal for Springdale. In February, we lost Robert J. Murray, a long-time member of Springdale, a volunteer every year for the Car Show and a Korean War veteran.
Bob served during the Korean War from 1952-1954 with a rank of staff sergeant and was also a member of the Mt. Horeb American Legion Frank E. Malone Post No. 113, where he was a commander for many years. As a Korean War veteran, Bob was in line to receive a trip to Washington, D.C. through Badger Honor Flight. This year, Springdale is both proud and honored to be able to sponsor a trip for one or more veterans in honor and in loving memory of Robert J. Murray.
Badger Honor Flight is the local affiliate for the national Honor Flight Network. They provide transportation, meals and lodging expenses for our veterans to Washington D.C. to see the monuments erected in honor of their service and sacrifices. Each veteran is accompanied by a volunteer Guardian who will assist the veteran and see to any special needs. Through the generosity of our local sponsors and partners, we are able to provide goodie bags and door prizes to our exhibitors and keep our operating expenses low so we can donate even more to our chosen philanthropy. We are pleased to promote our sponsors and partners each year for their support for this event.
Judging for awards will be a little different this year with expanded categories for cars plus the inclusion of tractors and motorcycles. Only registered vehicles are eligible for awards, but any vehicle may participate in the show.
Expanded categories used for judging this year will be: Pre-War Cars, Stock Cars, Customer Cars, Tractors and Motorcycles. Two awards will be presented in each category.
All registered vehicles are also eligible to win one of three special awards: “Pastor’s Choice,” “People’s Choice,” and “Best in Show.” Voting will be conducted throughout the day by our spectators for the “People’s Choice” awards. Judges will determine the “Best in Show” award. Awards will be presented at 3 p.m., at the close of the show.
Food and beverages are available on site for sale. We offer brats, hot dogs, chips, water and an assortment of sodas. The youth group will also offer sweet treats for sale.Picnic tables and some shaded seating are set up for your use. An area DJ will provide music throughout the day.
